Self doubt paralyzes me.

Liquid drips from my eyes
freezing cold as I walk it turns to ice
beneath my feet I slip
as my inner seams begin to rip
my fear begins to expose
as my toes go numb with each low
I waddle through each creative want
as if I’m on a hunt
feeling as if I can
as the icicle above my head pierces my hand
self doubt paralyzes me
as the cold sets the pain free
numbing the effects of the toxins
released by self doubt often.

Our greatest mistake: Asking the question how can this be easier?

We shove people into boxes
as if they’re nothing more than a simple display
telling stories out of dismay
yet each movie and television show
are riddled of stereotypes
making a villain
as if everyone is narrowminded
and only a certain mind can see it all
yet our questions are the same
how can I prolong this one more day
and our greatest mistake
came in reaction to the question how can this be easier
we’ve grown reliant upon technology
looking for a quicker solution
less physical work
worst for our mental health
bellies bulge
eyes strained
used or be used
as if life is something to be conquered
although it always ends in death.

This food is an addiction.

I’ve recently stopped eating meat
I couldn’t resist
the urge to cry
thinking of the world and why
we aren’t apex predators
we use machines and technologies as a lure
we farm
as a child it never set off an alarm
the cruelty of childhood folklore
that I used to smile and adore
as the pigs are bred to be slaughtered
the plants fertilized and watered
is any of our food edible
some days I slip up
this food is an addiction
with all the artificial additives
I’m not even an animal lover
I just believe in the health of a flower
at its natural state
without the additives of late
GMOs
and the others have to go
As I try to retrain my taste.

The heart struggles to keep up.

All the fear
resides within here
a blunt instrument
to relieve the torment
that twists and releases its toxins
throughout the circulatory system
the heart struggles to keep up
as the lacrimal glands secrete enough liquid to fill a cup
as the lungs gasp
beneath the pressure as they collapse
and yet the worries keep piling
as the brain continues filing
alphabetically no
numerically no
matter of importance no
the fingers move to slow
the entire system has to go
the pressure mounts
in tiring counts
and the brain implodes
causing an opposing force
which results in human combustion.

Hundreds of webs leaves the spider vexed.

Webs activated
the anxious bug decapitated
another scurries by past the dead
as the spider spins the thread.

Several more worries hatch
as the spider works for the catch
feeling perplexed
hundreds of webs leaves the spider vexed
each web intertwined
as the spider exclaims that it’s fine.

Anxious and stressed
the spider lays down for a rest
as each thought shows itself
the spider fearing for it’s families health.

A burden as a growth.

Which is in control
the host in which gives it a home
or the growth
waiting to to be picked and peeled
and devoured by another?

A burden as a growth
attached to a host
feeding and growing larger
only to be devoured by another.

A burden as a host
taking in nutrients
intercepted, stripping them clean
never to feel full.

A throbbing aggravation.

A bickering brain
each complaint a split in the terrain
one vessel to contain
an unhappy thought
swallowed by a vessel fraught.

A throbbing aggravation
as if two brains within one skull forces intimidation
a calm demeaner
within moments its another matter
leaving the body to react
before they become aware of each fact.

Irrationality
brought on by an anger without agility
feeling secure
and then quickly submerged within fear
that they themselves are never enough
lost and unsure as the feelings erupt.

She wasn’t the toxic type.

She handpicked her dinner in the grove
went home and boiled the red liquid upon the stove
preparation was the most tortures part
she had to reach in and pluck out the heart
she wasn’t the toxic type
organic meant the most ripe
ear plugs to withstand each scream
she wasn’t mean
only diligent
she was management
and each associate
deemed this dinner appropriate

The liquid must come to a full boil
or else it may curdle
and curdle vile
causes a great sickness for a while
at least it’s been rumored
As the red liquid simmered
she placed it into a skeleton mold
and into the freezer until it got cold

As each took a seat
she placed a meal of meat
each plate
gave each member a reason to relate
skeleton cubes filled each glass
as a member exclaimed she could teach a class
on such a perfect prep
forever in each others debt

A fire pit
the group gathered for a bit
speaking of their fears
and the monsters that have haunted them for years
they’ve evaded
eating in private hoping to never get raided
as she burned the clothes.

We are all humans.

I choose my place
I won’t stand here and wait
to determine right from wrong
it’s all a matter of opinion
I live without physical acts of aggression
I think as myself
rather than wait to hear from someone else
change brings happiness
laced within sadness
there is no superior
authority is dripping of mistakes
and I believe I’m right
I believe your right
even if our opinions aren’t the same
I believe intelligent thought
erodes our brains
complicating simple matters
we are all humans.

Different religions
different cultures
different languages
different colors
different sizes
different sexual identities
gender is made up by humans
stereotypes fabricated
we are all humans.

As long as you respect
as long as you don’t attack
as long as you let me be me
as long as you let her be her
as long as you let him be him
as long as you let them be them
then your opinion doesn’t have to falter.

Don’t be violent
respect human life
no human on Earth is less
unless they have attacked
unless they have harmed
unless they have destroyed
unless they have abused
and even then respect human life
and if they don’t then you can hate.

Beneath the splatter of burst hearts.

We gather
beneath the splatter
of burst hearts
commanded by compromised parts
stadiums stench of human sweat
dripping and wet
as they perspire under the influence
knowing if they stop they’ll be in ruins
eyes water
to the tune of human torture
as the artist on display
splatters the canvas in disarray
jagged torn skin
rotted flesh and worn thin
maroon red splattered
as the audience is left feeling flattered
exposure at the cost
of being bossed
of creations being filtered through many hateful eyes
and forced into a world of compromise.
