your a part of this too
at fault for the destruction of Earth
consuming the natural resources.

YES
although there are so many of us
that conserving is theoretically pointless?

Consumerism is an addiction
embedded within us
at our first snuggle in a blanket
the warmth of clothes on our torsos
our infant mittens
to keep from clawing our cheeks
consumerism is embedded within us.

“Breast is best!
“Bottle fed is a thing of disgust.”

Only once companies found a way
to profit off the tit
special creams
breast pumps for the working mom
everything is money
because consumerism
is our addiction
it’s all of ours
even the richest of the rich
they want it.

Bank account at the negative
another loan of consolidation
the ones with the most
looking down
thinking that person
shouldn’t have bought that car
the transport from home to job
job to home
as they themselves
have a collection of those
in their underground garage.

Consumerism without it
we as we are
wouldn’t exist
and I wonder
would that be so very terrible?
