The monsters standing about their ant holes.

As we fear
the monsters
under our beds
and peeking through our closets,
the insects
fear the open space
and the monsters
standing about their ant holes.
With one swift kick
breaking their life work
murdering villages
in one stomp
as the monster goes back home
without the guilt
because to them
insects are pests
and pests don’t matter.
Pests should be appreciative
the monsters
haven’t terminated them entirely.
Although the monsters
often forget
the entire concept of ecology
and the affect of ecosystems
in which the monsters learned in school.
Pest companies
have gained control
reminding the monsters
the disgust factor
of the insects
as if outside
is their place to hide
rather than their home.
