Sleeping the thoughts off.

Sleeping the thoughts off
as the eyes close
more appear
without my control
and I see the stories play
of faces I don’t quite know
and I awake
jot a few lines down
to save
and wash through my conscious mind
mixing in the detergent
letting them turn and soak in
down to the final beep
out they go
hanging them to dry
awaiting a final conclusion.
