The ground was swollen.

The ground was swollen
the more feet that stomped away
the larger it swelled
attracting paws that clawed away
and the nibbles of teeth
searching for a tasty treat
until the pocket swelled
and swelled
and burst.

A bloody secretion
red and rustic the smell
spraying out
as if underneath the mound
there was a whale-like creature
coming up for air
letting out the red tainted water
to breathe a little longer
and as the tainted water escaped
and spread above
the bystanders covered in blood
began to secrete saline
as if their tears could wash clean
their footprints.

As others held up their umbrellas
and placed on their raincoats
looking below and then above
as if everything could be repaired
if granted so by the ultimate power
the biggest boss
only the ultimate power never existed
and if they had they weren’t floating about the clouds
suffocating on polluted air.

For those that are not innocent bystanders
nor a believer in the ultimate creator
because they know the stories weaved
and told are make believe
created by others and retold by them
to keep those that believe believing
they sat securely behind their desks
with screens to watch the scene
smiling
and thinking
once the despair runs off
all those shmucks have a mess to clean
busily at their seats
they think
“hmm what products
could we bring out to make it right,
make it easier on them,
and guarantee me that second vacation home?
The bids up high already.”

Thanks for reading.
