Indebted within gratitude.

I am grateful
to be alive
I am thankful
to what I have
and even so
I know what there is
and what there isn’t.

All these sayings
all these phrases
all these quotes
to remind you
to be happy
to be thankful
to love
to give
to respect
to not be selfish
it’s as if
we’re raised
to be ashamed to feel
our anger
our frustration
and our natural selfishness.

If I died tomorrow
you’ll keep living
the difference in the world would be null
although if I’m dead
I’m no longer
which means to myself
I am the center
without me
I do not exist
the same as to you
if you died
you’d no longer exist
yet we’re led to believe
that our existence
should be indebted within gratitude
which I often wonder where is theirs?

Thanks for reading.
