Being self centered.

Without yourself
you would have no life
in which being self centered
is your core
and if you broke that bond
you wouldn’t exist.

To say being self centered
is a form of negative behavior
we are simply saying
put me before you
which then makes
all the others self centered?

In theory if we all put others before ourselves
then no one would be left emptied
wouldn’t it be quicker
if we all took care of ourselves
and in return
we’d have the patience
to be kind to others.

If we knew we’d always be taken care of
respected by ourselves
rather than giving it all
to everything else
wouldn’t we be more willing to give?

Why is it morally indecent
to care for yourself?
To see yourself first
leaving yourself calm enough
and happy enough
to be polite
and respectful when the time is needed.

I’ve met kind hearted people
that are bitter and mean
and their kind actions
are masked and forgotten
by their bitter behavior
because they left nothing for themselves
and they became cranky, irritable, and unrested
which renders a person
ill mannered.

I’ve met selfish people
that are kind in appearance
always smiling
and speaking with politeness
sharing interests
whenever their is a benefit to be received
as they slowly slip out when they’re needed
as the ill mannered person
is mumbling under their breath
covered in sweat
showing their anger
as they stand their and help another.

Thanks for reading.
